英语单词有几十万。要向全记住显然不现实。因此当我们碰到新单词是，就有个筛选问题。也就是说我们只能挑其中很少的一部分来记。我们目前所用的教材通常都是根据教学大纲的要求编写。换句话说，课文中的单词已经经过编者的筛选，因此课文中出现的单词一般都要记，当然对消极单词和积极单词的记忆要求应有所区别。
