The tiger is the king of animals.
tiger 是可数名词，可数名词以单数形式出现时，前面需要有限定词；这里加上the，指老虎这一类事物。

这里用it 指代老虎更恰当一些；后面一句cat 前面需要加a，或者只写到larger 也是正确的。
