except的用法：
conj.
要不是；除非 used before you mention sth that makes a statement not completely true
He is a good student except that he is occasionally careless.
他是个好学生，只是他偶而有些粗心。

prep.
1.除…外 used before you mention the only thing or person about which a statement is not true
Also he masters Russian except English.
除英语外，他也精通俄语。

v.
1.把…除外，不计 [T] to not include sb / sth
You will all be punished, I can except no one.
你们全得受罚，我一个也不饶。

2.反对，表示异议 [I] to oppose
Counsel excepted to the court's ruling.
律师反对法院的裁决。
