定语在句子中是放在被修饰词的后面，我们称为后置定语。

一，单词后置
1，形容词

英语中部分以a开头的形容词做定语要后置：

alive, asleep, alone，awake等

I'm the proudest father alive.

我是这世上最骄傲的父亲。

Money alonecan't make you happy

单靠金钱不能让你快乐。

Sorry, this is the only room available.

抱歉，这是唯一可用的房间了

为了修辞，句子平衡等需要，其他形容词做后置定语也很常见

2，表示时间、地点、方位的副词

副词一般做状语，但表示时间、地点、方位的副词有时做定语。

The weather hereis damp and hot in May.

五月这里的天气又湿又热。

On the way back, we were caught up in the rain.

在回来的路上，我们被雨淋了。

He is preparing for the lecture tomorrow.

他正在为明天的讲座做准备。

形容词短语、介词短语、动词不定式短语、动名词短语、现在分词短语、过去分词短语做定语，后置。

三，修饰不定代词后置
不管是单词还是短语，做定语都放在不定代词之后：
