in, on, at 后面常常加时间和地点

一、表示时间的时候，in,on,at 的用法如下

*In的时间用法
in的时间用法主要可分为三种：

1.in +世纪、年份、季节、月份
例如：
in 21 century  在21世纪
in 2015  在2015年
in winter  在冬天
in January   在1月

2.in + Part of the day，即一天中的某一段
例如：
in the afternoon  在下午

3.in + Period，一段时间
例如：
in the week  在一个礼拜内

*on的时间用法

on + 特定日期、日期、特定时间 (Day or Date)

例如：
on 19th    在19日
on 19th, January    在1月19日
on Monday    在星期一
on one’s wedding    在某人的婚礼
on the weekend   在周末
on Christmas Day   在圣诞节

*at的时间用法

at + 某个时间点、短暂的时段

例如：
at 9:30    在9:30
at midnight    在半夜
at lunch    在午餐
at one’s wedding     在某人的婚礼上
at Christmas    在圣诞节

在表示时间方面：
＊注意＊
in和at的用法比较：表达在早晨或者在晚上一般用in the morning/at the night，但如果要说某一天的早上或晚上，这时就属于特定时间的表示了，需使用 on，例如：on Friday morning/on Friday night。

on跟at的用法比较：on 加特殊节日的话，后面通常会加上Day，如：We have big meals on Christmas Day，这是比较一般性的用法，主要叙述“圣诞节的风俗习惯”，表示我们在圣诞节有吃大餐的习惯。而 at 的用法则代表“节日的某一刻”，如：We have a date at Christmas，这比较偏向叙述当天的活动内容，强调我们在圣诞节吃大餐的动作状态。

at 强调一个特定的时间点，若把时间画成一条轴，那 at 就是指发生在线上某一个时点的事件；
on 则用在特定的日子或日期；
而 in 则有两个用法，一个指相对长时间的其中某一段时间，另一个则是指事件发生在一段期间之内或之后。

二、表示地点的时候，in,on,at的用法如下

* 表示空间或范围，用 in

例如：
What’s in the box? 这盒子里有什么?
He lives in Paris with his wife. 他同他妻子住在巴黎。
但有时两者可换用。如：
The meeting was held at [in] the hotel. 会议在宾馆举行。

* 表示某一点位置，用 at。

例如：
We live at No 87 Beijing Road. 我们住在北京路 87 号。
The hospital is at the end of the street. 医院在这条街的尽头。
与名词所有格连用表示地点，也用 at。如：
at my sister’s 在我姐姐家  at the doctor’s 在医务室

* at 与 in 的另一个区别是：at 用于指较小的地方，而 in 用于指较大的地方。

例如：
in Shanghai 在上海    
at the station 在车站

但是，大与小是相对的，有时随着说话者的着眼点不同，大地方也可能用 at(比如把一个大地方看作一个点时)。如：
Our plane refuelled at London. 我们的飞机在伦敦加油。
We stopped for an hour at Moscow on our way to Paris. 我们在去巴黎的途中在莫斯科停了 1 个小时。

*介词 on 用于地点，主要指在某物的表面。
例如：
What’s on the table? 桌上有什么?
There’s a wallet lying on the ground. 地上有个钱包。
注：在少数搭配中，也用介词 on。如：
He works on a farm. 他在农场工作。

*在某些搭配中，三者的区别与英国英语和美国英语有关：
in the street (英) / on the street (美) 在街上
in the road (英) / on the road (美) 在路上
in the team (英) / on the team (美) 在这个队
at the weekend (英) / on the weekend (美) 在周末
at weekends (英) / on weekends (美) 在周末

*有时三者的差别与搭配习惯和用法有关：
in bed / on the bed 在床上
in the tree (多指树外之物) / on the tree (多指树本身之物) 在树上
