1983 Beirut Barracks Bombing
Rescuers searched among the [-----1-----] of Marine headquarters in Beirut after Lebanes suicide commandos drove [-----2-----] into 2 bases where United States and French [-----3-----] were sleeping. More than 240 marines died in the first explosion, which turned a four-story structure into [-----4-----], burning ruins.
Two minutes later, the French compound was hit in a similar attack, killing 58. As rescue work continued, Marine [-----5-----] arrived in Beirut from the United States to replace the dead and injured, this point of time, October23, 1983.
