On July 22, 1934 - John Dillinger is gunned down by G-Men.

1934 - FBI chief J. Edgar Hoover targets notorious bank robber John Dillinger as Public Enemy No.1. After breaking jail in Indiana with a pistol he whittled out of wood, Dillinger miraculously escaped two shootouts, where police had him outmanned and surrounded. Dillinger loved to publicize himself and he always had a retinue of women. The FBI hunt forced him to get a face lift and pour acid on his fingers to eradicate fingerprints. But all of that was not enough when Dillinger stepped out of a Chicago movie theater into a hail of bullets fired by waiting Federal agents. Dillinger, who claimed his only bad habit was robbing banks, had been watching a Clark Gable gangster fled with a lady in a red dress before the final curtain.
