ABC has ordered up an additonal six episodes of the Christina Applegate comedy "Samantha Who?"
The show is based on an idea from author Cecelia Ahern, and stars Applegate as a woman who wakes from a coma with no memory of her previous life.
"Samantha" has been helped in the ratings by having the hit "Dancing With The Stars" as a lead-in, and in its two airings has grabbed a solid 14.3 million viewers and a 4.6 rating/10 share among adults 18-49. The fact that the ratings held solid in week two was a positive sign for the network, since even successful new shows tend to have some audience tune-out after the premiere episode.
ABC has previously given full-season pickups to the dramas "Private Practice" and "Pushing Daisies." It has also ordered an additional three scripts of the Jerry O'Connell comedy "Carpoolers."
